As part of the VBGFT campaign with AFC, I designed the visual identity and communication materials for Masra7 Jarima (Behind the Screen... A Crime Scene), an impactful initiative aimed at raising awareness of technology-facilitated gender-based violence (TFGBV).
The campaign specifically targeted youth (15-25 years old), addressing them both as potential victims and perpetrators, with three core objectives:
⚠️ Sensitize: Explain what TFGBV is and how it manifests.
⚠️ Educate: Provide practical tools for victims and witnesses, while emphasizing the consequences for perpetrators.
⚠️ Engage: Encourage young people to take action in creating safer digital environments.
The visual concept of the campaign featured bold imagery: a smartphone wrapped in yellow crime scene tape, with a silhouetted female figure trapped inside, symbolizing the entrapment of digital violence. The color scheme, dominated by dark green and bright yellow, reinforced a sense of danger, urgency, and visibility.
Thanks to strategic social media outreach, community engagement, and educational content, the campaign reached over 80K people online, generating strong engagement, particularly from young women. It also contributed to boosting the credibility and visibility of the partner organizations, reinforcing their commitment to advocating for safer digital spaces.
By combining art, digital storytelling, and advocacy, this initiative shed light on the often invisible and widespread nature of online gender-based violence, empowering communities to speak out and take action.
